Stanwood R. Duval has extensive experience successfully representing both plaintiffs and defendants in the following types of cases: employment discrimination, the Fair Labor and Standards Act, personal injury and business litigation, including claims of breach of contract, Louisiana Unfair Trade Practices Act, enforcement of non-compete agreements and breach of fiduciary duty. He also practices in the area of business and commercial law and has helped in the drafting of the necessary documents to establish companies, including the drafting of Articles of Organization or Incorporation, operating agreements, buy-sell agreements, contracts, and other documents. Stan has completed successions, drafted wills with trust provisions and powers of attorney, represented creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, represented plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court, and currently represents the Houma Municipal Police and Fire Civil Service Board and the Terrebonne Parish School Board. He and the firm also helped numerous clients achieve over $100 million in compensation from claims arising from the 2010 BP Oil Spill.
